PREACHING PROSPERITY. WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE POOR AND TITHING.

PREACHING PROSPERITY.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE POOR AND TITHING.

Frankly speaking the gospel or other preaching in Kenya has taken a totally different approach where ‘men and women of the cloth’ are doing or saying things totally unexpected of them. First, it was the self proclaimed prophet Dr. kanyari who was busted and exposed by one MOHAMED ALI of KTN for couching his followers to give false testimonies on a televised recorded program. Apparently this doctor had been doing such things all that long. And if you live in Kenya, then I bet these kind of stories aint news to you since last year another preacher from eastlands advised his women followers to be attending church services without pants and bras for reasons best known to him. That is by gone as at now and Kenyans, the forgetting lot has now moved on from that.

Now the hot trending topic making rounds in the last three days is one for the ‘owners’ of JCC.  Apparently one Kathy kiuna seems to have been holding beef or perhaps has a personal hatred for the men who reside in the Nairobis middle class area popularly known as eastlands.
On one fine Sunday, Kathy, who is the presiding Reverend of jcc Nairobi was on spot for talking vehemently against non tithers who may happen to be jobless Nairobians trekking daily in the dusty streets of Nairobi in search of jobs. “The poor are not welcomed in my church“. These are not my words but are from the flashy preacher pastor kathy kiuna of JCC. During her sermon in church she said, "This is not a place for poor people. If you can’t tithe, find another church, we don’t entertain poverty. There are many churches in Nairobi which accommodate poor people but JCC is not one of them." This statement leaves everybody in Kenya with many questions that are not going to be answered any time soon.
This comes just in the wake of her utterances against Eastland’s. Just like the popular NJOKI CHEGE who seems to hate all men who drive blue subarus , KATHY has been talking ill about men who reside in eastlands for not so good reasons. REV KATHY KIUNA is alleged to have told Eastlands girls to rent servant quarters in leafy suburbs of RUNDA, LAVINGTONE AND KILELESHWA estates so as to increase their chances of being married to rich men. Apparently this would help them not to be married by the lazy and poor men of Eastland’s. This caused much uproar but her hatred for the poor isn’t going to stop soon.
Everyone is left wondering, what has become of preachers in Kenya of late? Have they abandoned preaching about God and embraced the gospel of prosperity? Have they forgotten what the word of God says about the poor and the rich? These people own bibles, so they all know what the bible says in Isaiah 61. The bible in the book of proverbs 22:2 says the rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the maker of them all.
The bible again the book of proverbs 17:5 says whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.
So I wonder which bible are the kathys reading. Yes the bible does say that we give tithe, but can someone give tithe out of nothing? The schooling lot and the house wives of jcc have no place to call a church since they have got no income they can tithe from? The Old Testament law required that a tenth of all produce, flocks, and cattle be given to support the Levites (the priestly class in ancient Israel). In turn, the Levites were to give a tenth of that for support of the high priest (Leviticus 27:30-33, Numbers 18:21-28).
As she categorically said the poor aren’t welcomed at JCC. Woe unto the poor JCC no longer needs you, let me hope she was born rich and she has been tithing faithfully since she was born again.
As she enjoys preaching to the rich and locking out the poor, she should remember Jesus was born in a manger the poorest place but he humbled and accommodated all people in his ministry. More so, she should also tell us what she is doing to empower the poor that they can also start tithing. Jesus came for all; he didn’t come for the rich alone. People do forget, this lot has forgotten where God chucked them from.
Our big question is that, is pastor kiuna justified to lock out the poor from attending her church???
Madam pray for your church members to get jobs, they will tithe faithfully.
