Here at mulika entertainment we believe in supporting talent the best way we can, and we are ready to invest our time in this for the future of the talented young boys and girls we have around. Unfortunately we have great talents in our hoods that nobody knows and these boys and girls go unnoticed yet they have mad potential to make it in life through their God given talents. Well for our new and fresh segment this week we met with a pipeline based hip hop artiste who takes us down through his music career. He tells us how music made him loose his girlfriend! Mulika :                    What’s your name?
 

Cheddie jay :            Meshack Makau.

Mulika:                       Who is meshack makau? Tell us about yourself.

Cheddie jay:              Is a Kenyan. From kamba tribe, a hardworking guy.  A first born in a family of 3 kids, a brother and a sister.

Mulika:                       Who is Makau as far as music is concerned?

Cheddie jay:               Is an upcoming hip-hop artist from route 33/34. mmmm so far have recorded a single song.

Mulika:                       When did you start your music career?

Cheddie jay:              2014, I was introduced to studio by my friend, i.e. melody house production and went ahead and recorded my song.

Mulika:                       What lead you or made you start singing?

Cheddie jay:              Talent unajua ina msukumo wa ki haina hahahahaha coz despite the love I had for music I never imagined I would record my own song

Mulika:                       Being in the music ministry is not an easy thing, so what has kept you going? Or what keeps you going?

Cheddie jay:              Passion. unajua when you are doing out of your heart no obstacle can hinder you. My life as an artist has not being smooth due to financial problems and it too cost me my girlfriend hahahahaha.

Mulika:                       Well, a times parents and facility at large seems to have an opinion on what their son should do or become in life, are your parents supporting you? Are they for or against your music?

Cheddie jay:              Mmmm my mum is so supportive and I appreciate that.

Mulika:                       According to your own opinion, are Kenyan artistes being equally supported in terms of getting airplay (media) and shows across the country? Or are we giving west/south African artistes too much attention over our own artistes?

Cheddie jay:               Definitely they are so much on west/south artist neglecting own. On show you will even find they are paying them expensive.

Mulika:                       So given a chance to talk to our djs and radio/tv presenters what could you tell the

Cheddie jay:             I would tell them to be patriotic.

Mulika:                        How far are you now and do you think it’s working for you?

Cheddie jay:              Mmmm with the likes of mdundo, amazon, skiza, itunes i think it is a bit fair now. Though have not ripped much from music.

Mulika:                       Are you signed anywhere? 

Cheddie jay:              No am a free artist but if such chance hits definitely will not let it go.

Mulika:                       Where would you want to see yourself in the next five years?

Cheddie jay:              Mmmmmm ruling and topping play list.

Mulika:                       What advice can you give your fellow new/budding artistes?

Cheddie jay:              Always believe in yourself, alafu bidii.

Mulika:                       Are you dating?

Cheddie jay:             NO NO.

Mulika:                       Any partying shot? To you fans. What should they expect from you this year?

Cheddie jay:              Mmmmm brand love song will be coming. To all music fans; show your support to local upcoming artist

Meshack Makau Mwangangi alias Cheddie jay is a 20 year old hip hop artiste based in pipeline, Nairobi.
He has released a song titled corruption.
